Acting Registrar of CMS resigns

20 October 2009 | Healthcare | General | Council from Medical Schemes (CMS)

"The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) regrets to announce the decision of Mr Patrick Matshidze, Acting Registrar and Chief Executive, to leave its employ at the end of November 2009, after almost a decade of service.

Mr Matshidze has played a stellar role in leading the organisation for the past year and has forged significant relationships with role players involved in the medical schemes industry.

With government efforts aimed at the establishment of a National Health Insurance (NHI) system for South Africa, which the CMS endorses unequivocally, he has been particularly active.

Fortunately, the process of appointing the new Registrar is well underway with an appointment expected during November 2009.

We wish Mr Matshidze well in his new endeavours and thank him particularly for his diligence and concern for the welfare of members of medical schemes and their beneficiaries.
