The Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance (OSTI) presented its new office and branding during a launch party hosted at OSTI’s new premises.

OSTI’s new logo comprises of an acronym and balanced geometric diamond shapes. The deputy ombudsman, Edite Teixeira-Mckinon, introduced the new logo to key stakeholders: “OSTI is written in a confident, solid, modern typeface, selected for its stability and approachability”. The “O” is a simplified graphic of an eye which symbolises the watchful eye of OSTI. The geometric diamond shapes, symbolise fairness and equity and balance, through their symmetry

At the event, guests were taken on a tour of the new OSTI offices, which was chosen for its open spaces and ease of access via all public transport systems. OSTI’s new physical address is: 1 Sturdee Avenue, Rosebank on the 1st Floor, block A, of the One Sturdee building. For more information, visit: http://osti.co.za

QUESTION

With regards to the COFI Bill, do you believe lumping the health and finance sector in the same basket will sustain the financial sector?

ANSWER

Yes, it forms part of the FSCA’s mandate to protect and maintain the sustainability of the financial sector, and to legislate fairness and make it the law
No, the products are different therefore the health sector should not have to be subjected to similar conduct requirements
This will cause problems. More consultations should be conducted before the final version of the COFI Bill is sent to Parliament for promulgation
