SAIA announces changes to meet the evolving environment

The South African Insurance Association (SAIA) announces changes to meet the evolving environment.

The South African Insurance Association (SAIA) Board made a decision at its meeting on 9 September 2014 to initiate change in the organisation in order to proactively meet a new and evolving environment. The aim is to continue to create an enabling and sustainable environment for the short-term insurance industry, with an enhanced focus on stakeholder relationships and strategic matters.

The SAIA executive board committee has agreed with SAIA Chief Executive, Mr Barry Scott, to enter into discussions regarding a separation between the SAIA and Mr Scott. The SAIA executive board committee will be working together with Mr Scott and his management team until the transition has been effected.

The SAIA executive management team and staff will remain unchanged which will assist in ensuring a stable and effective transition.
