Moonstone: Cipro Shootout

25 June 2010 | | Moonstone

It has come to our ears that the Sheriff and his not so very competent men at Cipro are planning an ambush on companies who have not yet submitted their annual returns and paid the applicable fees. This, despite the fact that their website is less accessible than the French coach, making it impossible to comply with the regulations. The only advice we can give readers is to try and check your status there. The web address is http://www.cipro.gov.za/.

While checking the correctness of the address, I came across this notice:

CIPRO understands the importance of ensuring that all entities get the opportunity to comply with the submission of the Annual Returns as per the Companies Act. It is in this regard that CIPRO is offering the final opportunity to all entities that have not yet complied, to do so by the 15th July 2010.

We trust that this extension will assist all business owners to continue with doing business and contribute to the South African economy.
