FSB Warning: Pension Fund Scam

02 September 2014 FSB

The FSB warns members of the public to exercise caution when dealing with Ms Alberta Macpherson and her company AM Financial Services CC which primarily conducts business in the Vanderbijlpark area. It has been brought to the attention of the FSB that Ms Macpherson and her company provide a service, effectively in the nature of a financial advisory and intermediary service to clients, purportedly aimed at assisting clients to claim their pension fund surplus money from pension funds which may or may not have any surplus to distribute to former pension fund members. She and her company charge a fee of at least R400 for this service. Former members of pension funds who believe they are entitled to receive a share of surplus in terms of their pension fund’s surplus apportionment scheme should directly approach their former fund or its administrator for assistance and they will not have to pay any money for their enquiry.

Neither Ms Macpherson nor AM Financial Services CC are authorised in any manner as a financial institution or as a regulated person by the FSB or to provide financial advisory and intermediary services in respect of financial products.
