The Minister of Finance, Mr. Enoch Godongwana, has appointed Ms. Thobile Prudence Masina as the Acting Ombud for Financial Services Providers (FAIS Ombud). Ms. Masina served as assistant Ombud since October 2017. She replaces Adv Nonku Tshombe, who acted in the position since 1 December 2019.
Her appointment is for a period of three (3) months from 13 September 2022, or until a new Ombud is appointed and assumes duty, whichever occurs earlier. Subject to the appointment processes currently under way, it is anticipated that the new FAIS Ombud will assume office no later than 1 November 2022.
