(26.8.04) The awards, which were for last year, spanned sectors across the economy and also included specific areas of excellence, pertinent to investors.

In addition, Sasol won the award for Resources – Basic Industries, as well as the award for the Best Chairman’s statement - walking off with three awards this year.
 
Gold Fields won the highly contested award for Resources – Precious Metals and Minerals, as well as The South African Mineral Resources Extraction Committee / IASSA award for its reporting of mineral resources and reserves - for the second-year running.
 
The much coveted award for Mining Finance went to BHP Billiton plc.
