ASISA expresses regret over departure of its Chairman
It is with regret that the Association for Savings and Investment South Africa (ASISA) announces the resignation of Chairman Thabo Dloti from its Board of Directors.
Leon Campher, CEO of ASISA, thanked Thabo Dloti on behalf of the ASISA Board and members for his strategic vision and skilled leadership that guided ASISA for almost two years.
“Thabo took on the role of chairman of ASISA during a period of mounting challenges for our country as well as our industry. His strategic thinking and measured approach were invaluable during this period and will be sorely missed. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Representation on the ASISA Board can only be at each member organisation’s most senior level. Therefore, as a result of his departure from Liberty Holdings, Thabo Dloti unfortunately has had to stand down as Board member and, by implication, as Chairman.
Liberty Holdings will nominate the new CEO of Liberty Holdings, David Munro, as a Director of ASISA. His appointment will be subject to approval by the ASISA Nominations Committee and ratification by the ASISA Board.
Rob Dower, deputy Chairman of ASISA, will assume the role of Acting Chairman until a new Chair is elected at the next ASISA Board meeting.
