10 April 2004 | Compliance - Regulatory | Acts (FAIS / Pension etc) | Angelo Coppola

We spoke to several industry leaders about their take on the results of the RPL assessments.

Ben Rousouw, in his usual efficient manner, speaks to Angelo Coppola about the recent RPL results.

“The IISA congratulates all those intermediaries who were successful in the first RPL assessment and who have gained credits for the unit standards that were included in the assessment.

“Over the next two to three years, intermediaries will need to obtain further credits to meet with the so-called column 4 requirements of the ‘Fit & Proper’ regulations and the IISA is in the process of rolling out skills programmes to assist intermediaries in obtaining the necessary credits.

“For those intermediaries who were not successful in the first attempt, and who will be sitting the 2nd assessment in May 2004, we wish every success. This also applies to those who will attempt the assessment for the first time in May 2004.”

Rousouw reminded intermediaries that there are other avenues available for meeting with ‘Fit & Proper’ competency requirements. More to follow on this later.
