Santam wins SAMBRA Insurer of the Year award

06 April 2011 Santam

Santam won the Insurer of the Year award at this year’s South African Motor Body Repairers Association (SAMBRA) function in Johannesburg. With this award, Santam beat competitors ABSA; CIB; Hollard; Mutual & Federal; Outsurance; Regent Telesure (Dial Direct, Auto & General, First for Women, Budget); and Zurich.

The purpose of the SAMBRA awards is to get motor body repairers to evaluate short-term insurers independently. This year SAMBRA commissioned the Greenfields Institute of Business to conduct the independent research study online. A copy of the questionnaire was e-mailed to over 1 000 SAMBRA members for completion. An online questionnaire was e-mailed to all SAMBRA members and weights (agreed with SAMBRA) were assigned to each question. The responses for each of the questions then finally determined the winner.

“While Santam does not go out to win awards it is however apparent that through a professional approach to our business partner relationships (where Santam acts in a fair and transparent manner) we can only go from strength to strength ensuring a win/win approach for both Santam and our suppliers,” says Garth Gibson, Manager Claims Procurement at Santam.

“It was a great feeling when Santam’s name was announced as the winner among 14 other insurers by the MBRs. I am proud to be part of Santam and to represent its great people as a company that really cares about its clients and suppliers. It was a wow moment,” says Gerhard Genis, Head of Quality Management at Santam who represented Santam at the award ceremony at Nasrec, Johannesburg.
