Sanlam Global Investment Solutions (SGIS) reaches US$ 1bn

04 July 2014 | Company News & Results | Sanlam | Robert Roux, Sanlam

Just two years after being acquired by Sanlam Investments in May 2012, Sanlam Global Investment Solutions (SGIS) has reached a major milestone and is now managing and administrating US$ 1-billion (over R10.5-billion). The company’s growth has been realised through its international investment solutions, P2strategies and the Sanlam Global Investment Plan.

Robert Roux, CE of the international business at Sanlam Investments said he was delighted with the performance of this part of the business. “Reaching this milestone has more than validated our decision to include these strong global investment products in our offering to local and international clients.”

Cobus Kruger, CEO of SGIS comments “P2strategies has been a particularly important differentiator in the market and has contributed significantly to our growth. As a team, we are extremely pleased with what we have achieved over the last two years.”

The Sanlam P2strategies Funds, an investment solution designed to manage the risk of investing in equities, were recently launched in South Africa. The strategy aims to provide growth while helping to minimise losses during major market declines. The solution gives clients the confidence to stay invested over the long-term. It can be accessed via stand-alone UCITS funds, and through Glacier.

Kruger further comments: “It would not have been possible to reach this milestone without some significant international partners, including in South Africa, Glacier”. Marcel Bradshaw Managing Director of Glacier International comments “It has been a great journey so far, working with the team at SGIS. The solution has been a great addition to our offering and we look forward to what the future holds for our partnership.”
