Sanlam announces IFAnet shareholding

30 May 2012 Sanlam and IFAnet

Sanlam Life has announced the acquisition of a minority shareholding in IFAnet, an independent broker distribution consultancy. Kobus Vlok, Chief Executive of Sanlam Personal Finance Distribution, says the agreement facilitates an opportunity for Sanla

Vlok says: “IFAnet, as an independent broker consultancy, effectively provides independent brokers with access to a number of product providers, ensuring a single point of service across multiple product lines. We are pleased that the concluded transaction will add Sanlam to the list of product lines offered and marketed by IFAnet.”

IFAnet chairman Dave Avnit says Sanlam’s shareholding means that independent brokers who do not currently have an intermediary agreement with Sanlam will, through IFAnet, now benefit from the comprehensive Sanlam range of products – particularly in the area of investments.

“We are delighted with this agreement, as it means that IFAnet becomes a natural extension of Sanlam’s distribution strategy to the independent broker market. In effect, it provides IFAnet with the capacity and resources to expand its offering to independent brokers.”
