Maria Ramos resigns from Sanlam Boards

Sanlam today announced that Ms Maria Ramos had resigned from the Boards of Sanlam Limited and Sanlam Life with effect from 2 December 2008. Ms Ramos’s resignation from these boards is as a result of her recent appointment, subject to regulatory approval, as Group Chief Executive of the Absa Group from 1 March 2009.
Ms Ramos has been an Independent non-executive director of Sanlam Limited and Sanlam Life since 2004.
In the announcement Mr Roy Andersen, Chairman of Sanlam’s Board, thanked Ms Ramos for her significant contributions to the Sanlam Group and wished her well with her new appointment.
