To complement its achievements as a market-leading financial services champion, Old Mutual was ranked as the No 1 Top Employer in two categories (Financial Services and Insurance) in South Africa by the Top Employer Institute’s 2015 certification programme. This marks the 4th time in a row that Old Mutual has won both these categories. Also, for the second year running, the company was again certified a Top Employer in Africa (in Kenya, Namibia and Zimbabwe).

Says Anisha Archary, Human Resources director of Old Mutual Emerging Markets, ‘As South Africa’s leading financial services and insurance brand, we understand the value and power of investing in people in order to enable a brighter future for everyone in our country. Old Mutual’s culture of fostering greatness touches every individual’s career, creating a working environment that empowers employees to do great things for our customers and communities.’

Archary says it is always an honour to receive public recognition and this award strengthens Old Mutual’s ability to attract, develop and retain the best talent. It also motivates the company to continually improve its employee value proposition – and to remain the best.

Old Mutual’s efforts and commitment to its employees are well recognised as the company has been ranked as a champion employer by various institutions. Earlier this year, Old Mutual was rated South Africa’s Graduate Employer of Choice in the Financial Services sector which also underlines its success in securing top young skills.

‘Old Mutual’s philosophy is about driving excellence in all we do. In essence, our people strategy is directed at delivering on our brand promise to employees to be ‘a great place to work with people who do great things’. This is the starting point for aligning Old Mutual’s people and culture to our purpose and promise to customers and communities,’ says Archary.
