New Mutual & Federal Multi-purpose Centre opens in Pietermaritzburg
One of the country’s leading short-term insurers, Mutual & Federal, is further expanding its offering by providing clients with a service that is convenient and customer-focused.
Mutual & Federal officially opened its tenth new Multi-purpose Centre in Pietermaritzburg on 23 November, to cater for the needs of clients in and around that area. The nine other facilities are located in major cities around the country.
This new Centre is in line with the Company’s strategy to turn all its drive-in claims and dual claims centres into multi-purpose facilities situated in central locations where drivable accident-damaged vehicles can be assessed.
“Our focus at Mutual & Federal is on enhancing our service to both our customers and our broker network,” explains Sedick Isaacs, Group Executive for Claims at Mutual & Federal. “These Multi-purpose Centres reflect the commitment of Mutual & Federal to efficient and professional claims settlement through on-the-ground, localised representation backed by modern, streamlined systems.”
Our concept of introducing Multi-purpose centres is to provide an all round claims service with convenience to our Brokers and clients. The main purpose of the centre is to do motor vehicle assessments; however, we are extending the service to be able to provide for the registration of non motor claims. Some of our centres already provide this extended service (Cape Town and Durban) and others will do so in the near future.
Clients can call the Mutual & Federal Multi-purpose centre and make an appointment to have their vehicles assessed within 48 hours of their claim being lodged. An appointment should not last longer than 45 minutes during which time the vehicle will be assessed and the necessary documentation will be completed. Once the damage to the vehicle has been evaluated, the client is referred to a Mutual & Federal-approved panel beater for repairs. The Pietermaritzburg centre at this point in time will only cater for Motor Vehicle assessments.
Mutual & Federal pioneered the concept of drive-in claims centres in the early 1990s to reflect their commitment to efficient and professional claims settlement. The Company currently has two Multi-purpose Centres in KwaZulu-Natal, two in the Cape, one in the Eastern Cape, an assessment centre in Bloemfontein and three Multi-purpose Centres in Gauteng.
Isaacs concludes, “Because Mutual & Federal believes in customer-centricity, we aim to service our clients and brokers in all major metropolitan centres across the country”.
