Mutual & Federal staff celebrated at IISA Conference

Mutual & Federal female staff members were acknowledged for their achievements at a gala dinner this week, hosted by Sasria. The dinner ceremony, which marked the end of this year’s two-day Insurance Conference at Sun City, recognised members in the insurance industry who have recently completed their short-term insurance accreditation and were elected as professional members of the Insurance Institute of South Africa.

“The Insurance Conference is one of the most anticipated events in our industry. IISA, as South Africa’s professional insurance body, aims to promote skills development and professional conduct amongst its members,” says Vuyo Lee, the Brand, Customer and Transformation Executive General Manager for Mutual & Federal.

Lee continues: “We are truly proud to have seven Mutual & Federal staff, all of them female, acknowledged at such a prestigious event. These accomplishments are notoriously difficult to achieve, and are only bestowed on a few individuals.”

Mutual & Federal employees who achieved a level 6 Associateship (AIISA) were:

  • Lalita Archary
  • Mercy Poole
  • Ronel Crafford
  • Maureen Laycock

Mutual & Federal employees who achieved a level 7 Fellowship (FIISA) were:

  • Amanda Byleveld
  • Lorraine Lucas
  • Susan Joynson

“We are delighted that the graduates from Mutual & Federal are women from different regions. This indicates the fast progression of women in this industry and our passion for the development of female insurers,” says Lee.

As a premier industry event, The Insurance Conference not only recognises recent accreditation achievements, it also provides remarkable insights into the insurance landscape. “The well-executed exhibition received a lot of support from conference delegates,” adds Lee.

Organised as a joint project between the Financial Intermediaries Association (FIA), Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) and the South African Insurance Association (SAIA), the 2011 conference consisted of networking opportunities and a trade exhibition that included an innovative and interactive stand from Mutual & Federal, which received considerable support from conference delegates.

In conclusion, Lee says: “Congratulations once again to our achievers and we thank each one of you for your passion and commitment to Mutual & Federal.”

Mutual & Federal, a member of the Old Mutual Group, is one of the leading short-term insurers in southern Africa.
