Mutual & Federal is the only Superbrand short-term insurer

Mutual & Federal, one of the leading short-term insurers in southern Africa, has made history by becoming the only short-term insurer to receive Superbrand status in 2010. The announcement was made on Wednesday, 19 May 2010 when Superbrands, an independent authority on branding, hosted an event to honour some of South Africa's leading brands.
Mutual & Federal received the nod for its excellence in branding over the past year. The accolade has also booked the short-term insurer space in the 2010 Superbrands South Africa Volume Three publication that was unveiled during last night's ceremony.

"We are delighted about the news," says David Entwisle, executive general manager responsible for marketing and brand at Mutual & Federal. "This achievement means that Mutual & Federal is recognised as a strong brand, not only in the short-term insurance industry but amongst South Africa's leading brands as well."

The decision to grant Mutual & Federal Superbrand status was based on assessments by the Superbrands Council which recognised the qualities of market dominance and acceptance, longevity, goodwill and customer loyalty in the company's brand.

The Mutual & Federal logo, which features the unmistakable silhouette of Table Mountain, is synonymous with efficient, reliable and good quality service delivery in the short-term insurance industry. It is therefore no surprise that Mutual & Federal has been selected as one of South Africa's Superbrands for 2010.

Entwisle continues, "We believe that the Superbrands status would not have been possible, had it not been for the continuous support we receive from our loyal brokers, policyholders and our staff."

The company's good reputation in the industry, excellent service delivery and community development initiatives, position Mutual & Federal positively in the market. This reputation is backed by strong marketing activities such as the recent advertising campaign that uses exciting high-speed footage on TV; dynamic stills in print and a unique radio concept - making Mutual & Federal a well recognised household name.

Entwisle concludes, "Receiving the Superbrands accolade confirms our status as a leader in the industry. We are honoured by this recognition and committed to retaining our brand leadership status in the years to come."
