Mutual & Federal helps runners tackle any obstacle at the Two Oceans race

Mutual & Federal is very proud to have taken part in the 45th Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon during this past Easter Saturday in Cape Town. This year saw our company handing shoelaces in our neon-green corporate colours to participants during the race, as a sign or symbol of our pledge to our clients; to Turn setbacks into comebacks!

This was part of the company’s Lace up for charity competition, which saw runners sign up for free laces and  standing the chance of winning R10 000 for a charity of their choice. Marathon runners go through several shoelaces on such a tough and long marathon and as Mutual & Federal we did not want that to hamper any of the progress of our participants. This is an excellent metaphor for the work we do in people’s financial lives. By insuring what’s most important to you, Mutual & Federal ensures that you get back to your original financial position despite how severe your loss; as long as it is a valid claim we will pay, ensuring that you get back in the race as soon as possible.

Mutual & Federal congratulates the winner of the Lace up competition, Seiso Ngalo, whose chosen charity is the SPCA in Bloemfontein.  This is what he had to say about his prize.

“I feel great and honoured to know that SPCA will be getting R10 000 through my donation feels. It’s really a feeling of achievement. My family and I love animals and I’ve seen how they struggle and are stray. I’ve also seen how the SPCA works hard to make things better for animals. It had been my dream to donate to an animal charity so I’m glad my dream could come true.”

We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the participants, especially the winners, Motlokoa Nkhobotlane and Caroline Worstmann, the first female South African winner in 14 years.

The 45th Two Oceans marathon was a truly a memorable event and we are honoured to have been part of this historic event on the South African sports calendar.
