Momentum Short-term Insurance (MSTI) partners with Good Fellas chauffeur service to get clients home safely this festive season

22 October 2008 Momentum Short-term Insurance (MSTI)

Momentum Short-term Insurance (MSTI) has launched an innovative partnership with Good Fellas chauffeur service, in time for the festive season. Effective 1st of December MSTI, will be offering the Good Fellas chauffeur service to our clients. MSTI members simply call us to arrange a pick-up and then they are driven home safely, in their car, by a personal chauffeur. For a nominal fee, clients will be able to use this smart and convenient alternative to driving under the influence. MSTI wants our clients to get home safely, reliably and responsibly.

The MSTI Good Fellas service will be available in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and East London and once you are signed up as a member you are welcome to use the service in any of these locations.

We are all aware of the grim statistics, but now MSTI clients who use Good Fellas are able to choose not to contribute to these horrific road tallies.

* 56,940 people are killed, permanently disabled or seriously injured annually in SA traffic accidents (RTMC, 2005)
* 36 lives are lost daily on SA roads (42% pedestrians and 8% taxi related)
*46,5% of all drivers killed in crashes exceed the legal blood alcohol limit of 0,05 g/ml. (MRC 2003)
*9,5% of all drivers killed in crashes consumed more than 5 times the legal limit. (MRC 2003)

The annual cost of drink/driving accidents (excluding taxi and pedestrian incidents) to individuals, companies and the economy in general is around R8.74 billion.

Commenting on the initiative, Erasmus said: “We think this is a practical solution that enables our members to make better decisions when driving on our roads. It is a collective responsibility that MSTI, in collaboration with Good Fellas, is proud to support.”
