It is with pleasure that the Momentum Metropolitan Group announces the appointment of two new members to its Board. Nigel Dunkley with a long-standing and successful association with the Group, most recently representing Momentum Metropolitan’s (MMH) interests in the UK, Guernsey and Gibraltar and Seelan Gobalsamy, strategically astute and a top-performing and experienced business leader.

In summary:

Momentum Metropolitan Holdings Limited and Momentum Metropolitan Life Limited have appointed Nigel Dunkley as an independent non-executive director, and member of the Group’s Audit Committee, with effect from 1 June 2021.

Nigel is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) and has also completed a post graduate Tax degree; and the Advanced Management Program (AMP) from Oxford University.

He has extensive experience in the insurance industry and as a non-executive director, both in South Africa and abroad.

Momentum Metropolitan Holdings Limited and Momentum Metropolitan Life Limited have appointed Thanaseelan (Seelan) Gobalsamy as an independent non-executive director and member of the Group’s Audit Committee, with effect from 1 June 2021.

Seelan is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA), with an Advanced Management Program (AMP) qualification from Harvard University.

With a proven track-record of redefining strategic direction, he is known to enter new markets, start and acquire new businesses and achieve large scale turnarounds, delivering sustainable growth in profits, sales and market share by building a culture of performance. He brings to the Group extensive prior experience in the financial services industry.

Commenting on the appointments, MMH CEO Hillie Meyer says, “Both appointees bring with them a calibre of knowledge and experience that will be hugely beneficial to the Group. We recently announced our re-energised Reinvent and Grow strategy with sustainable ambition to grow the business successfully to 2024 and beyond. We welcome Nigel and Seelan who join us at the right time, with the right stuff, to contribute to the task ahead”.
