Liberty Medical Scheme maintains its Healthy Status

23 July 2007 Liberty

After another successive year of growth and successfully weathering a tough year in the healthcare industry, Liberty Medical Scheme has maintained its strong A+ rating accorded to it by rating house Global Credit Rating.

"The rating is one of the highest in the industry and is significant in that it affords current and potential members peace of mind that Liberty Medical Scheme is a safe place to be in the turbulent waters of healthcare," says Andrew Edwards, Executive Principle Officer at Liberty Medical Scheme. He adds, "Medical Aid members are looking for value as well as stability and Liberty Medical Scheme provides both."

The report, compiled by the reputable Global Credit Ratings notes that claims and cost controls implemented by the Liberty Medical Scheme management are having a positive impact. "With delivery costs up to 20% lower than our competitors, we can pass more value back to members in the form of health benefits," Edwards adds.
