Leading African wealth management group, Liberty Holdings, has been recognised for its financial reporting and communications excellence at the Annual Investment Analyst Society (IAS) Awards held in Johannesburg today. Liberty was recognised by the IAS for the best presentation to the Society during 2008 for companies with a market capitalisation of between R5bn and R20bn.

Russell Harte, the group’s Chief Financial Officer said, “It is an honour for Liberty to have our financial reporting and communication efforts recognised by the IAS. Our investor relations initiative is an important cog in the group’s holistic approach to communicating in an open and transparent manner by delivering relevant information to all stakeholders.”

Investor relations is a function that is vital to a company’s financial success, particularly when one considers that, “Reputation adds value,” states Harte. “It’s no coincidence that Fortune’s list of Most Admired companies has significantly outperformed the benchmark S&P 500 Index on a consistent basis.”

Says Harte: “We are encouraged by the recognition received and will continue to keep our channels of communication open to impart the essential information so critical for investors and clients in making prudent investment decisions, especially in times of uncertainty.”

From a communications perspective Liberty believes that clarity, quality and professionalism reinforces stakeholder confidence, trust, security and peace of mind.
