Furstenburg to head Liberty’s pension reform strategy

Baron Furstenburg (pictured) has been named head of pension reform strategy at Liberty Corporate Benefits, part of the Liberty group of financial service companies.

He was previously director: financial markets at National Treasury with the task of shaping policymaking on pensions reform, market conduct, and long-term insurance. Prior to joining National Treasury he held various posts at CorpCapital Bank, Gensec Bank (now Sanlam Investment Management) and Alexander Forbes.

Furstenburg studied at the University of the Witwatersrand and University of London. He holds a B Com, B Com (Honours), M Com (economics) and M Sc. (financial management).
