Altrisk first to offer cancer cover right from the first diagnosis
Thanks to advances in modern technology, many cases of cancer are being diagnosed earlier. This allows patients to receive treatment sooner and thus improve their prognosis. However, early detection doesn’t necessarily reduce the cost of treatment, which
Unfortunately, many critical illness products do not provide cover for the early stages of cancer, or in situ events. It is to address this very real need that Altrisk has launched its new Early Cancer Cover benefit. Altrisk’s Early Cancer Cover benefit is an industry first in that it provides cover to those diagnosed with a defined malignant tumour that has not invaded surrounding tissue. This makes it different to anything else in the market, because it covers an extensive range of carcinoma in situ events, which are generally excluded.
The Early Cancer Cover benefit from Altrisk provides cover for 17 carcinoma in situ events, including those of the breast, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, testis, prostate, bladder, kidney, and stomach. Cover is provided with no exclusions or notifiable events and is available as an ancillary benefit to all of Altrisk’s critical illness benefits. The Early Cancer Cover benefit is available to age 65 or for life, and offers a maximum sum insured of R100000.
