25 March 2019 Tracker

A change of ownership structure at Tracker has enabled the company to attain 52.35% black ownership status. Tracker has obtained a full score of 25/25 on the ownership pillar of the ICT scorecard. The company has also achieved the full score of 2 (2.66%) for ownership by black new entrants.

Black Economic Empowerment is an important part of South Africa’s economic transformation, and Tracker is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all. B-BBEE is an integral part of the business, with the aim to support the growth and prosperity of a diverse workforce.

“This is a significant achievement for Tracker and we are very proud,” said Grace Dipale, head of Human Capital at Tracker. “We are committed to transformation at all levels within our organisation for the benefit of our employees, our communities, our stakeholders and ultimately, our country. B-BBEE is a continuous journey which starts at the top of the organisation.”

While Tracker has built a reputation as South Africa’s leading Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) brand, it is evolving to capitalise on the vast quantity of data that it collects on a daily basis, which currently exceeds 134 million packets of information per day. Through careful analysis of this information Tracker derives the appropriate insights to create a range of services to make life safer and more convenient for South Africans, and that deliver on its brand promise of “To care is to protect”.
