Today is the dawning of the new Age of Aquarius

This new Age has already seen us embrace a beautiful new brand identity and a wonderful new global insurer partner in Hollard Insurance. We are confident that this confident that this new era will also see Aquarius establish itself as South Africa’s favourite provider of bespoke personal lines insurance products for the high net worth individual. By focussing on enhancing our service levels and our use of technology, we know that the future will also see us putting some distance between ourselves and our nearest competitors.

Of course, when deciding what is likely to happen in the future, you need to understand what has happened in the past. At Aquarius, our past has seen us establish the roots that will ensure we thrive in this new time.

The First Age of Aquarius began in 2004, when a company called Admiral Professional Underwriting Agency developed and started marketing the UNIQUE product, a personal lines insurance policy aimed at high net worth individuals.

When the core Liability business of Admiral merged with Stalker Hutchison and Associates in the latter half of 2007, the UNIQUE team set off on a path of its own. That unique team (by name and by nature) became Aquarius Underwriting Managers, which opened for business in January 2008.

From our beautiful home at Lifestyle Nursery (off Beyers Naude drive in Honeydew), we deliver personal lines insurance offerings focused around a domestic policy that caters for the unique insurance needs of high net worth individuals, including specialised cover for art and high value vehicles.

Our team of 26 dedicated insurance professionals includes the extremely experienced executive team of Drew Schnehage (CEO), Laura Greer, Megan Hart and Raks Maharaj.

This talented team is responsible for the strategic direction of the company, but every one of our team members know that they are important to the success of our business. We all know that every single effort has an impact on whether we dive, thrive, or survive!

Founded on the principles of loyalty and connection, our mission at Aquarius is to “empower ourselves and empower others in everything we do”. Although we are serious about this objective, we are also committed to having fun while we are doing it!
