With effect, 1 December 2022, the Garrun Group welcomed YiB & CFP Brokers into their fold.

Commenting on the recent acquisition, CEO of the Garrun Group Vaughan Jones says the introduction of YiB and CFP to our fold forms part of the group's long-term strategy to build its capacity within the specialist lines market.

“The Garrun Group have been actively pursuing opportunities to invest in the specialist lines space to enhance and broaden our commercial insurance offering. More specifically, within the specialist lines arena, it has been a long-held desire of ours to enter the liability market and by combining YiB’s track record and technical expertise with the Garrun Group’s operational experience and scale, we will be able to launch a leading liability offering to the local market,” Jones explains.

Specialising in commercial, industrial, and personal insurance, the Garrun Group was established over 60 years ago and is one of South Africa’s largest independent insurance brokers, with regional representation throughout South Africa.

YiB Director Margie Allison says. “It’s not enough to simply sell insurance to professionals. Professionals need specialist advice for niche insurance. YiB & CFP Brokers will combine our unique services to add even more value to what the Garrun Group already offer”.

Based in Johannesburg, YiB and CFP are niche brokerages, specialising in liability, professional indemnity and medical malpractice. The management team, led by Margie Allison and Lauren Anderson, will continue to run the day-to-day operations, as well as retain a minority interest in the business to ensure their clients continue to receive the support and service, they are accustomed to.
