The Collaborative Exchange Acquires Fund Hub, an independent platform profiling investment managers

The Collaborative Exchange - a leading independent advisory, research and event management company that owns the intellectual property rights for five of South Africa’s leading investment conferences for investment managers and financial advisers (The Investment Forum, Meet the Managers, The Investment Think-Tank, The Alternative Investments Forum and The Financial Planning Summit) has acquired Fund Hub – an independent platform profiling asset managers.

Kevin Hinton, the Founder and Managing Director of The Collaborative Exchange says “Fund Hub is a natural extension to our business and allows us to provide a platform for smaller and emerging investment managers to be profiled to our extensive financial adviser community in a seamless and unbiased manner. There are many exceptional emerging investment managers/capabilities that do not have the requisite marketing budgets to participate at many of our large conferences, and this platform will provide them with the ideal mechanism to start profiling their businesses in a cost-effective manner. Combined with our knowledge of the industry landscape and our strategic advisory skills, we can provide an invaluable service to the industry.”

Fund Hub was formed in 2018 by Andrew Ludwig from Black Onyx, who also owned the CPD Hub that was also recently sold to Masthead. Andrew says “Since launching Black Onyx in 2015, we’ve established a loyal community of individuals and firms with interests in investing across a range of strategies. Fund Hub has grown to a point where it requires a new entity to take it to new levels and The Collaborative Exchange is well positioned to achieve this. Coincidently, Kevin has watched us closely since pitching Fund Hub to him while he was at RMI Investment Managers. My efforts have now shifted to blockchain and crypto solutions offered by my other company CURRENCY HUB. Fund Hub was never restricted to long-only investment managers but also profiled hedge funds, private equity and structured products. Kevin Hinton says “The Collaborative Exchange is undergoing a strategic review of the services offered by Fund Hub and has a number of innovative ideas that it would like to bring to market during the 2nd quarter of 2022.”
