SaXum Insurance Limited announces opening of new offices in Cape Town

04 September 2014 SaXum Insurance

SaXum Insurance is delighted to announce the opening of its new offices in Cape Town at 1 Bridgeway Road, Bridgeway Precinct in Century City. SaXum through this move is expanding their footprint in South Africa to ensure that brokers will be getting the best service.

SaXum as an insurer does have various specialist divisions such as Bonds and Guarantees, Engineering and then conventional commercial covers. The opening of the new office allows SaXum to expand its specialist services by adding a Casualty Division as well.

Pierre Marais was appointed as Divisional Manager Casualty with effect from 01 September 2014. His primary responsibility will be the development and growth of the Casualty Division. He will also add his expertise to the current specialist underwriting team in respect of tourism related insurance to contribute to the growth of this niche portfolio. Marais will also be responsible for the set-up and initial management of the newly formed Cape Town office.

Marais comes with vast experience in liability underwriting, specialising in cover for the SME and tourism markets. After running his own underwriting business Marais joined ONE Insurance as their Divisional Manager Liability and headed the division up for a few years.

When the opportunity from SaXum Insurance came knocking on the door, Marais decided that he was up for the challenge and he and Christa Roos, as Underwriting Manager, joined the SaXum team.

The Cape Town team will be bolstered by more key appointments and brokers can expect service excellence as is expected from SaXum Insurance from the Cape Town office.
