03 September 2014 Natsure

Professional Risk Underwriters Africa is proud to announce that in partnership with Amlin Underwriting – Syndicate 2001 (Amlin), the second-largest syndicate at Lloyd's in 2013, and as a division of Natsure (Pty) Limited (FSP No. 4578) we are a successfully tribulanised and approved Coverholder at Lloyd’s.

Professional Risk Underwriters Africa is the division responsible for Combined General Liability, on a Broadform non-accidental basis, and Professional Indemnity across a number of industries and professions. Our Product offering is intended for South Africa and into Africa and we offer Primary, Excess of Loss and Umbrella layers. Gary La Grange and Stuart Mullins have been appointed in the roles of Joint Managing Directors.

Gary La Grange says “the unique approach and understanding of the South African and African markets made partnering with the Amlin International Casualty and Professional Indemnity divisions an obvious, and positive, choice”.

“Added to their international credit rating, the vast global and local knowledge, expertise and experience of the Amlin International Casualty and Professional Indemnity divisions, together with the experience and capability of the Professional Risk Underwriters Africa team promises to be a formidable force in the existing South African, and ever growing African markets”.

“We have created a unique company, focussing on service excellence and the view that building longstanding and mutually beneficial relationships with our Intermediaries and clients is the only way to achieve our long-term goals. To accomplish this we believe in providing the best, and more importantly correct, cover. We pride ourselves in our understanding and assessment of various risks and undertake to be decisive in our underwriting response”.

“Being a division of Natsure is a major positive, the Directors of Natsure have been instrumental in the formation and continued growth of Professional Risk Underwriters Africa, and are a tremendous support base. In addition, we can rely on their experience and staff to provide excellent support, as and when required”.

Stuart Mullins believes that this is the perfect time to enter the market and with the experience of the team, and support from Natsure and Amlin, feels that Professional Risk Underwriters Africa will have continued success and grow into one of the largest specialist Liability and Professional Indemnity companies in the years to come.

La Grange and Mullins believe that a huge factor in setting Professional Risk Underwriters Africa apart is the shared view with the Amlin belief in efficiently paying valid claims. This gives the Broker peace of mind that their client will receive the best service from the first day they approach Professional Risk Underwriters Africa, until the day that matters arrives – a claim.

Whilst our focus is on the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME’s), Professional Risk Underwriters Africa have the skill, expertise and capability of writing larger and more complex risks.

In association with the Intermediary / Broker, we become a part of our clients’ business strategy.

Martin Boreham (Leading Class Underwriter, International Casualty) said: “We look forward to developing a long term relationship with ProRisk Africa, based on our shared commitment to customer service and specialist underwriting expertise.”
