MNK International South Africa announces new CEO Jamie Illing to lead next chapter
MNK International, a leading independent Lloyd’s of London broker, has appointed Chief Executive Officer Jamie Illing to lead a new offer to the South African and broader Southern African market.
Illing brings more than 30 years of local and international insurance and reinsurance experience across both underwriting and broking platforms. His career includes senior leadership roles at organisations such as Marsh, JLT Group, Independent Aviation, and Regent Insurance.
Under his leadership MNK International South Africa has a renewed focus, delivering high-quality corporate insurance and reinsurance solutions, underpinned by deep international market expertise and a commitment to supporting the local broker and insurer community.
Delivering tailored solutions and access to global markets
MNK International South Africa will provide corporate clients, broker partners, and insurers with structured, bespoke insurance and reinsurance broking solutions, technical analytics, risk advisory services, alternative risk transfer arrangements and risk engineering capabilities. This offering is supported by direct access to international insurance and reinsurance markets, including Lloyd’s of London.
Key focus sectors include renewable energy, manufacturing and industrial operations, real estate and commercial property, retail and FMCG, mining, construction, and agriculture.
The firm will focus on delivering specialist risk advisory and corporate insurance programmes as well as customised facultative and treaty reinsurance solutions across South Africa and the African market.

Illing is joined by Gerhard Raath as Head of Insurance & Reinsurance Broking, bringing 20 years of insurer, underwriting, and broking experience, and Paul Ray as Business Development Director, who brings over 40 years of industry and distribution leadership expertise.
