Lombard partners with Praesidio

07 July 2014 Peter Gordon, Lombard Insurance Company, Andrew Munro, Praesidio Risk Managers

Lombard Insurance Company Limited and Praesidio Risk Managers are excited to announce a new partnership between their two organisations as of the 1st of July 2014. Praesidio has been in business for over 10 years specialising primarily in Personal Accident cover as well as providing Kidnap and Ransom insurance. The nature of the relationship with Lombard Insurance has been established on both an underwriting and equity partnership. Praesidio will be writing on a coinsurance basis with both Lombard Insurance and Lloyds, whilst Lombard Insurance has acquired a significant minority shareholding in the UMA.

“This is very exciting for us” says Peter Gordon, Head of Partnerships at Lombard Insurance Company Limited. “As with all of our partners, the key element of our future success lies in the quality of the people we partner with. The guys at Praesidio have built a highly skilled team who know their respective markets extremely well, have a great reputation in the market place and who share similar values to us. Praesidio is a first class specialist UMA and we are really pleased that they choose to partner with Lombard.”

Andrew Munro, MD at Praesidio Risk Managers, echoes these sentiments saying that “Lombard have a proven track record of supporting long term partnerships with specialist UMA’s. This has come at the right time for us as they can provide us with exactly the type of impetus we want to help us take our business to a new level.”
