INN8 Invest Wins Citywire DFM of the Year Award

INN8 Invest, one of South Africa’s largest discretionary fund managers (DFM), was named DFM of the Year at the second annual Citywire South African DFM Awards – the local industry’s top accolade.

The financial services group also collected the Multi-Asset Medium Equity performance award at a ceremony held in Cape Town on Wednesday, 25 October.

“These awards endorse our vision and promise to provide financial advisers with a more transparent, engaged, and outcome-focused DFM experience,” said INN8 Invest Head of DFM Leigh Kohler. “The team is overwhelmed by the honour of receiving these awards. INN8 Invest last year won the Best Overall Investment Performance Award, the top performance award for Global Equity and the first prize for performance in the SA Multi-Asset Medium Equity category.

The Citywire South African DFM Awards aim to enable existing and potential clients to compare the risk-adjusted performance and service levels of DFMs across the local market. Last year’s event received 20 entries.

“The positive response to last year’s awards clearly indicated that there is demand for a source of independent data on DFMs,” said Head of Audience Development at Citywire South Africa Brett Powell. “We will continue to evolve our process to try to deliver that in the best way possible.”

Local DFMs have experienced remarkable growth, witnessing a more than fivefold increase in assets since 2015, accompanied by a surge in the number of operators to about 50. INN8 Invest has long pushed for more transparency within an industry that has grappled with the challenge of comparing the returns of numerous distinctive investment strategies.
