Cell captive insurance group, Guardrisk, has received a ‘level two’ black economic empowerment (BEE) rating from independent rating agency, Empowerdex. This is an improvement on the group’s 2010 ‘level three’ rating.

Guardrisk also retains its status as a ‘value adding supplier’ which, combined with the level two rating, allows the group’s clients to claim an amount of R156.25 for every R100 spent with Guardrisk towards their own BEE preferential procurement spend.

“That Guardrisk’s ratings have been steadily improving each year is evidence that we don’t just pay lip service to BEE. At Guardrisk, BEE has always been regarded as a business imperative” says Herman Schoeman, MD of Guardrisk.
