Glacier by Sanlam’s Money Market Fund rated AAA/V1(zaf) by Fitch

20 September 2010 Glacier by Sanlam

Fitch Ratings has assigned Glacier Money Market Fund a National Fund Credit Rating of ‘AAA(zaf)’ and a National Volatility Rating of ‘V1(zaf).

The AAA rating is given to money market funds that are managed more conservatively than others. They offer a lower risk investment as they are more liquid and therefore the risk of capital loss is limited. Further, the AAA rating indicates that the fund invests only in instruments with the highest underlying credit quality.

The fund invests in money market instruments, including certificates of deposit and notes issued by South African banks, fixed deposits, treasury bills and commercial papers. It is regulated by the Financial Services Board (FSB) and Collective Investment Scheme Control Act (CISCA).

The fund is suited to risk-averse investors seeking to maximise interest income while preserving capital and providing immediate liquidity.

Glacier has a successful track record of over 10 years in the investment industry and provides a wide range of financial solutions, designed specifically for its affluent client base.
