Executive changes at SHA

Dear Business Partners

I am saddened to share with you that Hendre Horne has decided to pursue a new business venture opportunity in the short-term insurance space and as a result has tendered his official resignation.

We’ve agreed with Hendre that he will work his 3 month notice period to end 31 January 2020. During this time, he will be available to myself and any other executives in the business, for any input and assistance as is required to ensure an orderly handover of his responsibilities. Thereafter, a 9 month restraint of trade is applicable to Hendre, before he can commence work at his new venture. No doubt he is looking forward to time in the garden, as well as the fairways and greens during this time.

Hendre joined SHA in 2010 and has made a hugely valuable contribution to the business of SHA and Santam and for this we are truly appreciative. We wish him well in his new business venture and certainly look forward to remaining good friends and industry associates.

Recently, we decided on a change to our business structure, wherein our A&H and Motor Fleet business units, which reported to Hendre, would now be managed and overseen by Mr Dave Honeyman, who previously headed up the A&H business unit at SHA. This change continues as planned and announcements as regards the individuals who will lead our A&H and Motor Fleet business units respectively are imminent.

Hendre was positioned to focus on the establishment of a new SHA Western Cape regional office, whilst also retaining his strategic management and oversight of SHA’s Financial Lines business unit.

Following Hendre’s resignation, Mwenda De Jenga, who is Executive Head of our Financial Lines business unit, will in the interim report directly to myself and we will be reworking our plans for the Western Cape Regional office.

We are confident that our day to day operational delivery will not be impacted by these executive changes at all and look forward to earning your continued support. Should you have any queries or concerns in this regard, you are most welcome to contact me at [email protected] or by telephone.

Sincerely,
Gareth Beaver
