Broadening Horizons: The Institute of Loss Adjusters of Southern Africa collaborates with the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters
The Institute of Loss Adjusters of Southern Africa (ILASA) is excited to announce that new frontiers were reached by entering into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA). The agreement provides a promising platform for collaboration between the institutes by expanding international reach and relevance to not only global markets but also into the African continent.
ILASA, established in 1960, is a professional institute for loss adjusters in Southern Africa, and maintains the profession's reputation, ensures high standards, and collaborates with role players in the insurance industry for technical and professional development. CILA is based in the UK and is a globally recognised professional body and membership organisation for claims professionals with global recognition. It was granted a Royal Charter in 1961.
The MOU enables these bodies to share knowledge and best practices, thereby providing additional professional development opportunities. In the everchanging modern risk landscape, cross border sharing between professional bodies enhances the technical proficiency of members and promotes the adoption and alignment of globally recognized standards in loss adjusting. It is furthermore anticipated that a sense of international unity among members will be created, thereby driving synergy between loss adjusters to new levels.
ILASA is looking forward to partnering with CILA to strengthening international recognition and influence for its members, upholding the trust and efficacy of the profession and more broadly the insurance claims process.
Bryan Moyles, ILASA’s President, said:
“We are looking forward to developing our relationship with CILA, and this partnership will demonstrate to our local market that we have a level of expertise and professionalism that is at least on par with the global market.”
Keep an eye out for further announcements from ILASA about the MOU, which will enable members to take full advantage of the benefits available. In the meantime, ILASA members can contact Stacey Nel at admin@ilasa.org.za.
