Assupol Life Ltd. takes insurance to the next level

06 November 2015 Assupol

Assupol Life Ltd. in association with Mobi Mall Retail Solutions (Pty) Ltd now offers a convenient solution to Metrorail commuters where they receive an accidental death benefit to the value of R20 000 called CommutaShoTM. This benefit comes at no extra cost when commuters buy their Metrorail train ticket at any Mobishop kiosk located in Gauteng.

Mobi Mall Retail Solutions (Pty) Ltd via its network of Mobishop kiosks make the process of purchasing train tickets much easier for the commuter, as they can now purchase Metrorail train tickets in their community at a place where they are likely to do their shopping and work. When a weekly or monthly Metrorail train ticket is bought at a Mobishop kiosk, the commuter receives a R20 000 accidental death benefit (CommutaSho™), underwritten by Assupol, at no extra cost. The CommutaShoTM benefit is active as long as the weekly or monthly Metrorail train ticket is valid and has been purchased directly from a Mobishop Kiosk.

Commuters can also select an additional benefit when buying their Metrorail train tickets at the Mobishop kiosks, called CommutaShoTM Duduzeka. It provides R2 500 life cover that beneficiaries can use for instantGroceries™, airtime, electricity and transport. CommutaSho™ Duduzeka costs R3 when purchased with a weekly Metrorail ticket or R10 when purchased with a monthly Metrorail ticket thus providing term cover during the period that the Metrorail train ticket is valid and has been purchased directly from a Mobishop Kiosk.

Assupol Life CEO Bridget Mokwena-Halala said, “We are very proud of these new products. This pioneering, value added offering is a first for the South African commuter. Providing insurance to this market is a great achievement, as we are now offering a product at their convenience. Metrorail commuters can now rest assured knowing that when purchasing a weekly or monthly Metrorail train ticket at the Mobishop kiosks, they can choose to receive an accidental death benefit underwritten by Assupol, as well as the option to select CommutaShoTM Duduzeka.”

“Assupol has been in service of South Africans as an insurer for 102 years. One of our main goals is to make our products easily accessible, the Mobishop kiosks are predominantly on the Metrorail route primarily in township malls where we will be providing services directly to people in the communities,” concluded Mokwena-Halala.

The Mobishop kiosks can be found at the following locations in Gauteng: Randburg Square, Daveyton Mall, Dobsonville Mall, Maponya Mall, Golden Walk, Thabong Mall, Festival Mall, Denlyn Shopping Centre, Atteridgeville Plaza, Mayfield Square, Sotonga Mall, and Mamelodi Plaza. By 2018, an additional 120 Mobishop kiosks will be opened nationally and soon each of these Mobishop kiosks will offer free Wi-Fi to any customer using a smartphone.
