Aon South Africa has announced that Guy Scott, CEO of Aon Risk Solutions (ARS), will be leaving the company to pursue personal and other business ventures. This change will take place as of March 2013.

Guy Scott joined Aon South Africa 18 years ago in 1995 when he joined Lumley South Africa as a Senior Corporate Broker. Lumley was acquired by Aon Corporation in 1996, after which Guy progressed to the position of CEO of ARS and a board member of Aon South Africa (Pty) Ltd.

“I have decided to move onto other business interests in the insurance sector. I remain passionate about the Aon brand, its clients, staff and partners. My immediate task is to ensure a smooth transition that will preserve the culture and values that have successfully differentiated Aon Risk Solutions in the market. I have grown with Aon in South Africa and enjoyed my tenure, especially being part of turning Aon into the leading intermediary in the South African market. I will miss the highly talented and skilled staff I have had the pleasure of working with over the years, but I know that I am leaving a business which is well positioned for the future,” says Guy.

On Guy Scott’s departure, Anton Roux, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Aon South Africa says: “Guy will be missed at Aon, but we wish him everything of the very best in his new endeavours. His passion and energy have helped shape the business and he has been a driving force in Aon’s many successes. He has been an integral part of building Aon South Africa to be a leader in the South Africa Insurance Market working closely with me and our global colleagues on various acquisitions. Guy has helped steer the business through a remarkable growth phase and also solidified our culture of professionalism and service delivery by appointing a world-class team within Risk Solutions. Guy is someone with a wealth of broking experience and is highly regarded for his skills and professionalism in the insurance market. His reputation in the insurance industry and corporate South Africa is impeccable and we wish him well.” says Anton.
