Investec announces new African Equities team

Providing research and facilitating investment into numerous equity markets across the continent.

Investec announces the formation of a new division within Investec Securities to provide equity, research and execution capacity across selected countries in Africa. This will complement Investec Securities’ existing full service equity offering in South Africa.

“The combination of our international distribution capability along with focused local knowledge and relationships is designed to drive a more effective, solution driven platform for our clients,” said Flynn Robson from Investec Corporate and Institutional Banking.

The new team will utilise and enhance the existing Prime Services offering across selected markets in Africa with the addition of specialised research and execution. The expansion aligns to Investec’s strategy to provide comprehensive solutions for clients across the African continent.

The African Equities team led by Simon Reid will include Ryan Bell, Ziv Okun and Andrew Shultz who will cover sales and execution. Yeukai Gavaza and Kuda Kadungure will provide research.

Simon Reid added: “With the launch of Investec Securities Africa, we will be expanding the existing Investec research footprint to provide clients with a far more comprehensive picture of sector bias within Africa. Investec will therefore also participate in the growth of these markets as a business, using existing skills and capacity to assist the expansion.”
