Angela Mhlanga, MD of Compass Insurance has resigned her position and will be leaving the company as of 31 October 2010. The Compass Insurance Board have accepted Angela’s resignation and thanked her for her contribution. Compass Insurance is 100 % owned by Hannover Reinsurance Group Africa and as such, the Group MD, Achim Klennert has been mandated by the Compass board to now actively examine feasible replacements options for the position.

Says Klennert, “While Angela’s resignation is certainly unfortunate given her positive contribution to the business over the past four years, Compass Insurance is well positioned to continue business as usual. Angela will fulfill her duties until she is due to leave, at which time the Compass EXCO team will be in charge of the day-to-day running of the business.

According to Klennert, the current internal structures and team at Compass Insurance are very skilled and certainly their depth of experience and passion for the specialist insurance sector will ensure the continued success of the business and its agencies. “Compass has a strong corporate culture of delivery and responsibility and I have no doubt that the team will be supportive of the new MD and continue to demonstrate to the market just why Compass is a leading specialist insurance company!”
