CIB Insurance Administrators (CIB) and i-Truck have entered into a partnership that will see CIB able to offer the range of i-Truck products to its entire panel of brokers throughout South Africa.
Douglas Donnelly, CEO of CIB says of the deal, “This partnership is mutually beneficial to all parties - CIB, i-Truck, our combined brokers and all their clients. We have been working together on the details for quite some time and are extremely excited about the opportunities it brings for us to distribute a unique range of heavy commercial vehicle and transport products to our brokers. Partnering with experts in their field together with a product that is one-of-a-kind in South Africa is something we are very happy about!”
i-Truck, which is based in Kwa-Zulu Natal and has offices around South Africa, is ably led by CEO Mike Brown and his team of experts in the field of trucking and ancillary products associated with heavy commercial vehicles and transport insurance.
CIB has over 900 brokers nationally who will have access to these new products for their clients. While i-Truck will benefit from the much larger footprint that CIB provides, the added value of such a product allows CIB to extend its product range into a specialist area that many brokers have exposure to, but often without the necessary expertise needed to underwrite and maintain such a specialised aspect of insurance.
CIB has strategically extended the products on its platform through close associations with specialist operators such as i-Truck. Brown states, “i-Truck is aware of the challenges that confront fleet operators on a daily basis. We are constantly striving to improve our service by offering a comprehensive transport solution, which includesproducts tailored to fleet operators’ unique requirements.”
Over the past 18 months i-Truck has introduced state of the art tracking solutions, with monitoring and remote control benefits from i-Truck’s 24 hour control centre. Their vehicle monitoring tracking devices are unique in South Africa, as the system is able to offer real time tracking and in-cab communication, which enables i-Truck to monitor speeding and location, as well as harsh braking. In addition, Brown emphasises that i-Truck’s aim is to create a comprehensive facility whichenables i-Truck the ability to offer fleet operators value-added benefits such as discounted bulk buying on tyres and diesel, accessibility to truck stops, roadside assistance, truck spares, courtesy vehicles and truck rentals.
Donnelly concludes, “i-Truck is a business that is completely focused on providing a high quality trucking solution to the many clients that need to run their fleet of trucks and trailers both safely and with the minimum amount of downtime, which increases their bottom line.”
CIB and i-Truck will be launching the entire product range and all the additional specialist benefits to the broker fraternity within the next few weeks.
