Continuing with its commitment to making a sustainable difference in local communities, on 12 July, Zurich initiated a regional initiative in Nelspruit by providing support to SizaBantwana, a non-profit organisation which offers home based care to more than 200 children who are orphaned or made vulnerable as a result of HIV/Aids.
Edwyn O’Neill, CEO of Zurich South Africa said: “In line with the overarching objective of Mandela Day, to inspire individuals to take action to help change the world for the better, we believe in providing hands on support to our many initiatives across the country. Our employees are looking forward to engaging with the children at SizaBantwana and making a valuable difference to their lives.”
The visit to SizaBantwana was followed by another Zurich initiative on 16 July which was in support of the SANPARKS Rhino Conservation Programme at the Kruger National Park.
“We were delighted to be part of one of the most important conservation initiatives in our country. As part of this exercise we were able to witness the delicate relocation process that will ultimately ensure that the rhino is protected. We value the importance of our ecosystem and are proud to be part of such an occasion” concluded O’Neill.
