Ackerman and Kieswetter open new Alexander Forbes headquarters in Western Cape

Mr Raymond Ackerman, Chairman of Pick and Pay Group, and long time client of Alexander Forbes, spoke of great things ahead for both South Africa and Alexander Forbes when he addressed staff and prominent Western Cape clients during the official opening of Alexander Forbes’ new offices at Block A, The Boulevard, Searle Street, Woodstock on Thursday 18 February 2010. The opening also coincided with the first visit to the office by Mr. Edward Kieswetter, the recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of Alexander Forbes.

The Boulevard is a modern office park offering awe inspiring views of Table Mountain and Lions Head on one side and the city and Table Bay on the other. The location affords staff a relaxed and comfortable working environment while providing easy access to clients and the insurance market. The opening ceremony was blessed with fine weather with staff and guests to enjoy a beautiful sunset and evening.

Alexander Forbes in the Western Cape was established in 1947 and has since then seen strong growth in the region and the city of Cape Town. Alexander Forbes’s first client in the Cape was the Deciduous Fruit Board (now Capespan) which is still a client today. From relatively humble beginnings in the region the business has had several office moves culminating in The Boulevard office park in Woodstock. The new offices house over 245 staff who, along with regional offices in Stellenbosch and George, brings Alexander Forbes’ staff complement in the Western Cape to just over 330.
