AIG South Africa has announced that the international ratings agency Standard and Poor’s (S&P) recently awarded AIG South Africa Ltd. and AIG Life South Africa Ltd. a zaAA+ rating. This zaAA+ rating is the highest rating S&P has awarded any direct Property and Casualty insurer in South Africa.

"We are delighted to receive a zaAA+ rating from Standard and Poor’s which we believe truly reflects the financial strength of our operations here in South Africa as part of AIG, one of the world’s leading global insurers,” said Wayne Abraham, Managing Director, AIG South Africa. "We are strongly capitalised in both local entities.”

"We are extremely well positioned within the market to take advantage of the broad range of innovative products and services that we offer. These are backed by our local presence and expertise, as well as our ability to leverage the capabilities of AIG worldwide. Our on-going focus continues to be to offer these excellent products and service solutions to meet the needs of our brokers and customers,” concludes Mr Abraham.
