Absa diversifies its insurance offering, now offers Legal Cover

Absa announced that, as part of its diverse insurance service offering, it will be offering legal cover through the bank’s extensive branch network as from today. The legal cover, known as Absa Law For You, has been on offer through the Absa call cent

This will provide customers quick and convenient access to legal cover via Absa’s branch network.

Herman Moloi, General Manager at Absa Insurance Company, says: “We are extremely excited about this new offering. It will assist us to be a one-stop shop for quality insurance offering to our customers, while at the same time making legal cover accessible to a vast number of South Africans.”

Absa Law For You offers three main benefits, namely: Basic, Mediation and Litigation, which provide legal protection for Criminal, Civil, Labour and Family matters.

With regard to the basic benefit, policyholders are entitled to free legal advice on any matter. It also provides cover for matters that occurred prior to the commencement of the policy. Mediation benefit entitles policyholders to free legal advice and informal mediation for the full term of the policy on any legal matter that arises after the commencement date. On the other hand, litigation benefit includes cover for court proceeding (criminal, civil, family or labour) and where physical representation is required.

The use of Absa’s close to 700 branches will ensure that this offering is distributed throughout the country, making it the most accessible legal service in the country.
