Circular 5 of 2018: Induction Programme for Brokers

" The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) will be hosting induction workshops for newly accredited healthcare brokers. The
workshops were postponed last year due to unforeseen circumstances. These will be offered at a cost of R1000 per
accredited individual broker and will cover the following:
• Introduction to the Medical Schemes Act
• Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs)
• Accreditation of Brokers, Administrators and Managed Care Organisations
• Complaints and adjudication
• Update on the Demarcation Regulations and the National Health Insurance (NHI) Policy White Paper
• Compliance and requirements for Financial Service Providers
