Beyond RDR (Pty) Ltd launches to help South African Financial Advisers prepare for RDR

17 May 2016 Beyond RDR

Today sees the launch of a new business, aimed at helping financial advice firms to meet forthcoming regulatory changes.

The Retail Distribution Review (RDR) is a new piece of regulation that aims to increase transparency and improve financial advice standards. It will have a significant impact on the financial services industry, advisers and their clients.

Beyond RDR (Pty) Ltd draws upon the skills and International experience of its two Co-founders. Steve Billingham is a well known UK-based business management consultant, who has been successfully assisting UK advice firms to re-position their businesses since 2010. Brian Foster spent 30 years as a UK financial planner and has owned and managed two successful UK firms. He's been charging fees for advice since 1997 and sold his last business in 2012 to emigrate to South Africa.

Brian Foster said, "Good financial advice has the potential to make a real difference in clients' lives and we need to find a way for more people to experience the benefits. The world is changing and RDR will transform the traditional advice model, which has been broken for many years.

"What we do is ensure firms survive RDR and build thriving, profitable businesses, through the delivery of a financial planning experience their clients willingly pay for"

Steve Billingham said, "We've operated as two separate, but collaborative, businesses in the UK and South Africa, and we felt it was time to formalise our South African brand to move forward and provide South African advisers with the help they need to be ‘RDR ready’. "

Beyond RDR (Pty) Ltd offers a tailored consulting service and a group-based monthly coaching programme based around "The 6 essential steps advisers need to take to get ready for RDR."
