Job Specifications:

The successful applicant will act as the Executive Officer and, with the guidance of the Board of Trustees, manage all the strategic, operational and administrative functions of the Scheme in order to ensure compliance with the relevant Medical Aid legislation, regulations and Medical Scheme rules

Job Specifications Key Performance Areas:
Driving and leading the strategic direction in conjunction with the Board of Trustees and Fund Administration
Providing support and technical advice to the Board of Trustees (incl. legislative, scheme rules and change management)
Liaising, managing and engaging with all stakeholders including but not limited to: The Medical Schemes Regulator from CMS, FCWU, AFCWU, other Principal Officers and Health Associations, and representing the Fund.
Coordination of timeous submission of all statutory returns as well as audited financial statements and annual reports, whilst monitoring the financial performance of the Fund’s investments
Implementation and monitoring compliance with management and corporate governance best practices and guiding the Board of Trustees
Requirements Person Specification / Requirements:
Relevant Bachelor’s or higher degree, plus
A strong financial understanding and the ability to interpret financial reports at strategic level
An in-depth understanding of the Medical Aid Industry will be an advantage
Demonstratable experience in a Socially responsible stakeholder environment
Should be Cape Town based, or be willing to move to Cape Town at own cost.
