What will you do here?

You will contribute to the success of the company by ensuring accurate and speedy delivery of all relevant month-end activities in support of the preparation of management accounts as well as company payments.

Key responsibilities of the role: 

Financial Accounting

  • Prepare the business cash book and bank reconciliation as well as associated reconciliations on a monthly basis. Ensure that bank transactions are valid and bank charges are accurate.
  • Receive, review, validate, prepare and capture all general ledger journals monthly. Ensure that source documents are valid, complete and approved.
  • Completed all VAT schedules/calculations and submit all VAT returns on SARS efiling. 

Creditors Management

  • Ensure that the creditors control function is carried out in such a way as to ensure overall compliance with company policies, effectiveness and efficiency of processes, adequate controls, and maximum output from staff.
  • Ensure all company creditors are duly paid within the required timeframes.
  • Confirm the validity of invoices and investigate fluctuations in monthly recurring invoices.
  • Ensure that management is informed of all non-recurring payments, payments in excess of the pre-determined limits and unbudgeted payments. 

Treasury/Cash flow

  • Check all bank balances daily in order to ensure that sufficient funds are available for short term requirements and invest available funds to maximise interest returns.
  • Propose and attend to inter-company account bank transfers when needed.
  • Manage the petty cash requirements of the respective business units. 



  • Assist with ad hoc Finance projects or activities and other business needs.



Qualification and experience required

  • 2 years+ relevant experience.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.


Organisational alignment

  • The role reports to the Financial Manager.
  • The position is based at our Head Office in Stellenbosch.
